"Hayes romantic details are off
the record"
Darren
Hayes isn't interested in buying into
speculation about his mysterious love
life.
While
the former Savage Garden singer has
recently bared his soul to the world
about
his troubled childhood - the
inspiration behind
his
autobiographical second solo album The
Tension and the Spark - Hayes doesn't
believe
his candour should extend to his
romantic life.
Hayes
dismissed reports this week that he
was
eagerly seeking - and had been unable
to
find - a girlfriend.
"I've
never talked about my love life,
it's
weird for me." Hayes said "I don't
think I
need to explain to the world the
status of
my love life,
because I'm happy, and it's
taken
me years to get there."
Hayes
admitted he unleashed the new
with
mild trepidation given the intimate
nature of its themes - and the
frosty
reception to his solo debut Spin,
but said
he now felt comfortable enough to
reveal
himself.
"There
were moments where I thought,
my
God, this is so revealing', but
isn't
that what artists are supposed to
do?"
